FOUNDER
Maison Kinder was founded by a husband and wife, Jeff and Min Lehoux. They are a mixed couple and have three children. Jeff is a successful French-Canadian businessman from Quebec City who grew up in a house full of children since her mother was running a home daycare. He saw and experimented what a daycare who genuinely loves and cares about children was all about. That left him many ideas on how to run a care center that not only babysit children but help them grow, learn and become responsible kids. Having then developed many successful businesses, such as the Shi Tang restaurant in downtown Montreal, he now runs a company that specializes in teaching and providing high-end services to the Chinese people across the world.

ABOUT OUR CENTER
Maison Kinder is a 24/7 childcare service center located in a triplex downtown Montreal. It is a family-owned enterprise founded by a husband and wife, Jeff and Min Lehoux, and operated exclusively by Min. Unsatisfied with the existing child care options available for their own children, they decided to open Maison Kinder.

The childcare service center is designed to be a home away from home for children where they can laugh, learn, and grow. Your children will gain social skills as they develop academically. Child care safety is also very important at Maison Kinder, therefore the center has been renovated and updated to make it 100% child safe. Also for child care health and safety, the childcare service center is cleaned carefully every day – throughout the day – to keep your family healthy. Lastly, we give balanced and wholesome meals that help your child stay focused and grow strong.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Laugh, learn and grow! At Maison Kinder, we believe children are born with the wings, educators help them to fly… We believe that during the early years every child is unique and exceptional. We believe that this great individuality mandates that there can never be a universal method for guiding all children the same way. We believe in two methods, the Traditional and the Montessori ones. At Maison Kinder, we understand that children are at their best when engaged through a variety of learning methods.

Maison Kinder is committed to serving the needs of the busy families of nowadays. We are always open to give you maximum flexibility in your busy life all the while providing a safe, developmentally appropriate Montessori-based environment that encourages children to grow socially and academically. Our focus is to provide a stimulating early care and education experience which promotes each child’s social/emotional, physical and cognitive development. Our goal is to support children’s desire to be lifelong learners.
OUR PROGRAMS
Our program is designed to meet all the developmental needs of young children. We offer both Traditional and Montessori-based Methods of education for children. Traditional since we still believe there was some good in the “old traditional way” of teaching. We emphasize discipline, respect, and good manners all the while developing the child confidence and love for learning. And Montessori-based since it is a method beyond compare to develop the whole personality of the child. Each child is different and therefore should be respected for his uniqueness and ability to learn at his own pace. We offer the child an opportunity to explore his autonomy through choices. The materials that are found in our Montessori-based center, the correct manner to utilize them, and the attention to detail in the environment help the child to adapt to his needs and to become independent. Our program follows seasons and is built on themes.
FOUNDER
Min, a Chinese woman, is the manager who operates entirely the childcare service center. She possesses a degree in Engineering from one of the top universities in China where she worked as an engineer before changing field and working for a Chinese TV station. She immigrated to Canada in 2002 where she learned and studied English and French at Université de Montreal before earning a Graduate Diploma in Communication Studies from Concordia University. Like her three children, she now speaks fluently Mandarin (Chinese main language), French and English. Min then worked in her husband`s businesses where she learned the North American way of doing business before deciding to devote most of her time to build and educate her family.
As a mother of three, and being a very patient, gentle, kind, and considerate person, Min developed her love for teaching to children and decided to devote her life to teach and work with kids. She studied Early Childhood Education and Childhood Psychology. She also studied extensively the Montessori Method and developed with her husband a complete range of courses tailored specifically for children.
Then she obtained her “Assistant Educator” certificate as well as her “Childcare Service Supervisor”certificate. She also obtains a “RCR and First Aid” accreditation before working and teaching in a daycare as an apprentice. Today, she is very excited and happy to welcome your precious children to our center!
